Modernizing a 250-attorney international firm's website
A multi-year partnership taking a major international firm's website from legacy 2016 code to a fast, compliant, modern platform built to be found.
When this 250-attorney international firm came to us, its website was still running on code dating back to 2016. A deprecated templating library was surfacing draft pages publicly, slow database queries dragged down load times, and an aging theme boxed in what the firm could do. Analytics were outdated, and the site lacked the cookie-consent compliance its European offices needed.
Rebuilt the core
A 104-hour core project removed the deprecated library, rebuilt the people and offices sections, and rewrote advanced search from the ground up, resolving filter, taxonomy, and post-type bugs rooted in the original 2016 build.
Modernized the platform
Upgraded to PHP 8 and the current framework with sitewide compatibility fixes and a proper staging-to-live workflow, the speed and structure that search and answer engines reward.
Fixed measurement & compliance
Migrated analytics to GA4 and Google Tag Manager and implemented cookie-consent categorization for privacy compliance across the firm's international offices.
Became an extension of the team
Redesigned desktop and mobile navigation, added structured firm and client news sections, and handled day-to-day content, bios, and urgent launches dependably for years.
Real figures from a real engagement.

Illustrative redraws in the firm's brand, not screenshots. Client work is kept confidential.
A site that can't be found isn't a marketing problem. It's a foundation problem. We fix the foundation first.A CounselDigital principle
Every figure on this page is a real number from a real engagement. The firm is anonymized for confidentiality, and we publish no fabricated metrics or invented testimonials, for this client or any other.
